Introducing NASO @ Home™

We’re an independent, boutique, creative and e-commerce platform that specialises in small batch hand-poured eco-soy wax scented candles, that are crafted with the finest fragrance and essential oils.

In addition to our scented candles, we also offer a range of fragrance diffusers, wax melts, homeware, home décor, and other handmade creative wonders, all designed to compliment your home.

Our Why

At NASO @ Home™, we like to try new things in design and tap into our individual creativity, and having a great time while doing it - you know, that thing called joy + fun!

Sometimes switching off from the noisy world, travelling, embracing cultures, experimenting and just making cool things, then being able to share these with others.

That’s what NASO (meaning ‘rest’ in Somali) means to NASO @ Home™ owner, Yasmine.

NASO @ Home™ Origins

As well as the usual cultural favourites, the ‘uunsi’ (scented frankincense), incense and bukhoors, scented candles have always been a go-to when looking to create a comforting ambiance at home, a form of relaxation and when choosing essential oil candles, a form of wellbeing.

An idea that started in late 2019, a seasoned Program/Project Management professional by day, community advocate, entrepreneur and creative at heart - Yasmine, opened an Etsy store sharing some of her handmade NASO Candles; receiving great responses from early customers and deciding to grow from there.

Still grounded in its roots, expanding from candles and becoming more present by delivering a series of pop up shops and collaborative events, in 2023 and Q1 2024, NASO @ Home™ showed up at:

  • a Africa Day celebration in Greenwich as part of our work with ‘iEMPOW3R’,

  • delivered our first independent pop up at BOXPARK-Shoreditch,

  • delivered an ‘in-store’ experience and collaborative creative workspace at ‘The Factory’ in Dalston,

  • collaborated with another business (‘Healtfulness’) in BOXPARK,

  • spent 6 weekend days at Truman Markets-Upmarket in Brick Lane and continued at Truman Markets into March 2024, and

  • exhibited at The London Muslim Shopping Festival based at the London Excel in February 2024.

Our theme for our pop up shop was ‘A Garden of Peace’, inspired by Richmond, Virginia-born Lonnie Liston Smith’s album ‘Dreams of Tomorrow’. We played his piano solo throughout the course of the event, including other renditions.

Our Commitment

We're trying our best to educate ourselves and share learnings with others on the ongoing climate crisis. We're constantly improving our products to ensure we're playing our part in preserving our beautiful planet and its environment.

Our candles are all made with EcoSoya CB-135. The wax is a sustainable, vegan-friendly and fully biodegradable candle wax. It's a fully formulated, single pour, all-natural soy container wax that requires no additives. 

Additionally, we use biodegradable paper for packaging that can be recycled, as best we can.

We reached out to MoreTrees.eco because we loved their work. More Trees are providing people with the opportunity to offset their carbon emissions by planting trees, and all from £1. How incredible! They kindly allowed us to incorporate their site on ours. We really do encourage our customers to take a look at their amazing work and consider making a 'small change, with a big impact'.

In 2023, NASO @ Home made a commitment to:

  • Plant a tree after every order (option to opt-in at checkout) and,

  • Plant 10 trees every month

We hope to do more in this space.
